Who is eligible for First Holy Communion?

A child who has been baptised in the Roman Catholic Church.

A child who is aged 8 and in Year 3 or above in Primary School.

First Holy Communion Programme for 2024/ 2025.

To participate in this programme, you will need to commit to the following.

1. You, the parent, are the most important person to help your child to discover a loving and trusting relationship with God.
2. Spending quality time with your child, discussing and learning from the stories of Jesus, you will both deepen your awareness of God’s place in our lives.
3. As you, the parent, share your faith story with your child, you will reflect more deeply on your role as educator and provider of the best example to your child.
4. Whatever you fear you lack in knowledge of God will be overcome by your daily prayer of asking God to help your child and by your attendance at Sunday Mass.
5. The example of a lived faith is more important than any mere words.

Each month you will need to.

1. Sit and watch the video on your own and then watch again with your child.
2. Plan and anticipate questions that may arise in your discussion with your child.
3. Sit together to complete the homework sheet before the deadline date.

Saturday Meetings.

We have five Saturday Group Meetings scheduled where we gather with the catechists to ensure we have all understood the content and

provide any additional support or encouragement.
